Here are the answers to this week’s quiz:

1. B. Scientists have developed a strain of H5N1, also known as bird flu or avian flu, that is more easily transmitted among mammals. They were asked not to publish details of how they did it, and different journals have agreed to report on general information.

2. B. Kim Il Sung was Kim Jong Il’s father; Kim Jong Un is his third son and heir. The other names are made up, although Rick Perry’s campaign did refer to the late dictator as Kim Jong II in a press release. Koreans don’t use Roman numerals in names.

3. A. Local, state and federal officials in Wichita say they’ve been told Boeing will shut down a facility that was to be used to put military systems into the 767 frames that will be the basis for the tanker. The company says no decision has been made.

4. C. Despite previous warnings and reprimands, he called in sick for his shift at a fire station then worked a shift as a substitute teacher.

5. E. There is no KFC Bowl, although there is a Chick Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.
