• The Hubbell Financial Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has hired Joey Meyers and Cory Violette as associates. Meyers previously served in the Navy as a command and control systems specialist and supervisor for the past eight years. Violette previously played professional basketball internationally and holds a degree in finance from Gonzaga University, where he also played basketball.

• Brandon Houskeeper and Courtney Barnes have been named government affairs directors for the Association of Washington Business. Houskeeper previously worked as a policy analyst for the Washington Policy Center and Barnes previously worked for the state House of Representatives, serving as a counsel for several committees. The organization also named Tom Layson a communications specialist. Layson has operated his own video productions company, New Media Solutions, since 2007.

• Robert Matthew has been hired by InCyte Pathology as a storeroom assistant. He previously worked for Kaiser Aluminum. The company also hired Tanya Frey as an accountant and Angelina LeBlanc as an accessioner. Frey previously worked for Nighthawk Radiology and LeBlanc previously worked for Sacred Heart Medical Center. • The American Association for Respiratory Care presented Wade Scoles of Cheney with a Specialty Practitioner of the Year award in the Surface and Air Transport Section category. Scoles serves as a chief transport respiratory specialist for Northwest MedStar.

• The following individuals have been elected as 2012 executive officers for the Idaho Lodging and Restaurant Association: president, Diane Newman of Best Western Burley Inn; vice president, Dan Todd of Smokey Mountain Pizzeria Grill; treasurer, Steve Ball of Premier Insurance; secretary, Nancy DiGiammarco of Silverwood Theme Park; immediate past president, Doug Burnett of the Coeur d’Alene Resort; National Restaurant Association liaison, Kevin Settles of Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery.

• Savory Restaurant and Lounge has named John Little as a managing partner. He previously served as food and beverage director at the Coeur d’Alene Resort last year and was a managing partner of Outback Steakhouse in Coeur d’Alene for nine years.

• Bruce Anderson has been appointed as a lawyer representative for the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Court, District of Idaho, for a three-year term. He is a partner in the Coeur d’Alene law firm of Elsasser Jarzabeck Anderson Elliott and Macdonald, Chtd. He has practiced law for more than 25 years, including more than 17 years of practice in Idaho.

• The Spokesman-Review has hired Regina Winkler as a national sales executive. She has 22 years of media industry experience. The company also hired Rebecca Brooking as a digital account executive for Spokesman.com. She previously worked for The Daily World in Aberdeen, Wash., and has more than five years of experience in newspaper sales.

• Greg Taylor has been promoted from director of program management to vice president of operations for Unicep Packaging Inc. in Sandpoint. He has been with the company since 2007.

• Skils’Kin has hired Richard “Dick” Welsh as human resources manager. He previously served as HR manager for SCAFCO and Franz Bakery in Spokane. The company also promoted Laura Smith to employment manager.
