Proposed casino a win-win

I support the Spokane Tribe’s proposed casino on its large acreage just west of Airway Heights. What’s wrong with all the low-paying jobs the opposition purports? They seem to be working well for the Northern Quest employees and local merchants.

If Fairchild Air Force Base is so concerned about development in the area, it could have purchased the large vacant land just across U.S. Highway 2 from their main base entrance a long time ago. To my knowledge, the base has never questioned or had concerns about development north of the highway.

The voiced opposition against increased traffic congestion is probably valid. However, this will generate more jobs as the Washington Department of Transportation ramps up to meet the challenge.

I see a win-win for Spokane and the West Plains, and few downsides to the proposal.
