Religion Notebook: Candlelight breakfast planned

Shalom Ministries will present its fourth annual St. Lucy’s Candlelight Breakfast Benefit Saturday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave.

The meal will be accompanied by live music and fresh-baked St. Lucy’s crown breads.

The nonprofit organization serves breakfast Monday through Friday and dinners on Monday evenings – as many as 3,200 meals a month – as part of its Dining With Dignity program for vulnerable and at-risk community members at Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third Ave.

Tickets are $30 per person or $210 for a table of eight. They are available at Central United Methodist Church.

Nativity scene

Green Bluff Community United Methodist Church, 9908 E. Green Bluff Road, Colbert, will present its annual Living Nativity scene Saturday and Dec. 16 and 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on the east side of the church’s building.

The church will also offer the Nativity Christmas Eve after its 7 p.m. family candlelight caroling service.

Breakfast with Santa

First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present Breakfast with Santa Saturday at 9 a.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the children in holiday activities. There will also be face painting, photos and breakfast.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. They will only be sold in advance during office hours at the church.

Free clothing

Central Baptist Church, 19 W. Shannon Ave., will offer free clothing Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. for anyone who needs it.
