Unfortunate comments

This statement is regarding the Scott Creach killing. I was more than appalled by the comments by the Spokane police spokeswoman on the day of this terrible incident.

She said Mr. Creach should have known that it was a police vehicle because it was a Crown Victoria.

There are many Crown Victoria vehicles around our community which are not owned and operated by the Police Department. If her statement was true, don’t you think all the local criminally-minded would have a “Crown Victoria”? Give me a break!

Then, to top it off, it was “an unmarked cruiser” with a male, wearing a dark-colored top. It’s very unlikely that anyone would be able to see an officer’s badge and/or the patch on his sleeve during the daylight, let alone in darkness. This police spokesperson only added insult to injury.
