Mortuary rents out reindeer

BOISE – An Idaho funeral home is renting out reindeer for holiday events.

The reindeer available for rent at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise all answer to “Prancer.”

Manager Robert Boetticher Jr. said the previous owner first brought reindeer to the funeral home grounds, where they have been rented out for years during the holidays.

The funeral home now has six reindeer – a 12-year-old female named Prancer is the best-known, though she is now retired and no longer does events.

Boetticher said says the three weren’t given names, so he calls them all Prancer.
