Tax campaigns
Here is a new tax that everyone can support regardless of political affiliation or economic status. Impose a 25 percent tax on all campaign spending, with another 30 percent surcharge added to any expenditure that generates a negative advertisement. And like speeding in construction zones, the tax is doubled if the ad is predominately lies.
Politicians are nearly always in campaign mode, so this will generate a steady stream of tax revenue without hurting the economy.
