Public service remembered

The Spokesman-Review

As a veteran, I want to thank and commend 6th District Senate candidate Michael Baumgartner for his service to our country while working for the State Department. It means a lot to those of us who have served overseas with civilian and U.S. officials, to see such a qualified candidate running for office.

I served in Iraq from 2004-’05. During my tenure, I was fortunate to serve alongside several different branches of the military, government and civilian sectors. Every one of those people played an integral part in functions and daily operations; each one placed themselves in harm’s way and sacrificed just as much as myself.

Michael Baumgartner, working with the State Department, served his country honorably in the Middle East. I’m always grateful to see candidates here in Spokane and across Washington who know how to serve the people and won’t be swayed by the special interests in Olympia. To my fellow veterans and military members, I’m confident that if you research Michael you will come to the same conclusions as myself. Michael Baumgartner is a man of leadership, integrity and honor. I will be proud to cast my vote for Michael Baumgartner for state Senate.
