Looks like Willie got a bob

Country music fans are all abuzz over the news that Willie Nelson has cut his hair.

“Oh Noooooo!,” wrote one fan who saw a picture of Nelson’s new do on the website of Nashville radio and TV personality Jimmy Carter.

Nelson’s waist-deep, reddish pigtails have long been one of his trademarks.

But spokeswoman Elaine Schock said the singer, who’s been hanging loose in Hawaii, got his hair cut in the past couple of weeks.

Schock said he might have grown tired of dealing with long locks, adding: “There’s a lot of maintenance.”

Meanwhile, the Austin, Texas, city council voted Thursday to rename Second Street downtown after Nelson, an area resident for nearly 40 years.

Let’s kiss him goodbye

Kiss frontman Gene Simmons will not be charged in an alleged attack on a couple at an upscale outdoor mall in Los Angeles.

Prosecutors said there’s not enough evidence to support the couple’s claims that the 60-year-old rocker choked them and took their video camera after they started filming him.

A civil lawsuit remains pending in the case, along with a new, separate suit that claims Simmons sexually assaulted a makeup artist while in his Kiss costume.

She says he grabbed her and started grinding into her, with the costume’s spiked chest plate jabbing her in the face.
