Brett’s reality is still rough
Bret Michaels is receiving outpatient care after being hospitalized for what doctors called a warning stroke.
The “Poison” frontman’s publicist said he has been diagnosed with a patent foramen ovale, or hole in the heart.
Doctors said the condition is treatable and likely unrelated to the brain hemorrhage Michaels suffered last month. He also has Type 1 diabetes.
The 47-year-old rocker had hoped to return to the stage starting next week. He’s still scheduled to appear on Sunday’s season finale of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” where he’s one of two finalists along with actress Holly Robinson Peete.
Michaels’ neurosurgeon said that while he has a “fantastic attitude” about making a full recovery, “Bret’s brain and body are not quite 100 percent yet.”
You too, Bono?
U2 frontman Bono has undergone emergency back surgery in a Munich hospital after he was injured while preparing for the group’s upcoming tour.
The band’s manager said Friday that the June 3 “360-Degree” show in Salt Lake City has been postponed. It was not immediately clear whether other dates also were affected.
New Travolta treasure
Finally, some good news for the Travoltas: John Travolta, 56, and actress wife Kelly Preston, 47, are having a baby.
The couple have a 10-year-old daughter. Their son died last year at age 16, and the family’s two dogs were killed last week in an accident at Maine’s Bangor International Airport.
