What are we against today?

The Spokesman-Review

I am one of those people who was born and raised in the Spokane area, moved away and ended up moving back; my family lives here, and most of the time I really love where I live.

That being said, I think we’re a city of malcontents. So far we’ve managed to kick Kim Thorburn out, now we’re working on Anne Kirkpatrick; the Valley wanted to be incorporated, now they don’t; the couplet in the Valley is now being rethought; we wanted a strong mayor, then we didn’t; we don’t want to pay full price for our vehicle license tabs, but everyone complains about the condition of our roads.

I wish our city would stop kvetching and operate from a set of realistic expectations; Utopia does not exist.
