Tap big businesses
Larry M. Belmont (Letters, May 5) writes about how all citizens, of any economic bracket, need to start making sacrifices in order for our country to come out of our current deficit.
I think Larry makes a good point, and I want to take it a step further. Something does need to happen when it comes to the amount of freedom those who manipulate politics have.
Yes, we need to be doing something about the money oil companies are making. Yes, we do need to come down on big business. We have been letting too much money go to waste, and it is time for American citizens to get some of that back.
Those of us in the middle class are already making sacrifices; when are the companies who are profiting hand over fist going to make sacrifices? When are we going to do something about it and what can we do? We all keep talking about it, but indeed now it is time for a change.
