Latah Valley church to bless the beasts Sunday

Latah Valley Presbyterian Church, 202 E. Meadow Lane Road, will offer a Blessing of the Animals service Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Dogs, cats and other domesticated animals are invited to receive a blessing.

Tea and dollies

Liberty Park United Methodist Church, 1526 E. 11th Ave., will present its annual tea today from noon to 2 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Bring your Dolly to Tea,” and many members of the church will display vintage, antique and cultural dolls. The tea will include sandwiches, veggies, deviled eggs, coffee, tea and cookies.

The cost is $3 and attendees are invited to bring their dolls.

Interfaith service

Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2715 S. Ray St., will present an interfaith worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.

The theme of the service will be “Compassion: How Your Faith Tradition Understands It, Uses It, Values It, Prays with It …”

There will be a potluck after the service.

Volunteer information

Catholic Charities of Spokane, 12 E. Fifth Ave., will present an informational session Tuesday from 10 to 11:15 a.m. to discuss volunteer opportunities at its many programs.

The network of programs include Bernadette Place, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, Childbirth and Parenting Alone Program, the Christmas Bureau, counseling, House of Charity, Parish Social Ministry, Refugee and Immigration Services, the regional offices, Respect Life, St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, St. Margaret’s Shelter, Senior and Family Housing and Senior Services.

Snacks and tours of the main facility will be available.
