Regional shelter’s time now

The Spokesman-Review

Hooray for your wonderful Jan. 27 editorial “City, county must join forces for the animals.” It is well past wake-up time for the funding of a regional animal shelter.

Even though the economy has many people hurting, we cannot neglect our duty to provide help for the needy animals and address the pet overpopulation problem. Let’s hope the City Council rolls up its sleeves to find a way to get this vital project done now while interest rates are low and labor is affordable.
