Hale, Shearry spark NIC

Michael Hale III and reserve B.J. Shearry tossed in 15 points apiece to propel the North Idaho Cardinals (15-2, 5-2) to an 80-73 victory over the visiting Southern Idaho Golden Eagles in Scenic West Athletic Conference men’s basketball action Saturday night.

Guy-Marc Michel had 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Cardinals, while Renado Parker added 14 points and eight boards.

Carrick Felix scored a game-high 23 for the Golden Eagles (11-7, 3-5), who trailed 39-29 at halftime.

Big Bend 96, CC Spokane 92: Jeff Ranstrom notched 25 points and a game-high 13 rebounds and Dominick Brumfield scored 19 to power the Vikings (6-3, 1-0) to a win over the visiting Sasquatch (10-3, 0-1) in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges opener at Moses Lake.

Zach Humphrey scored a game-high 29 for CC Spokane. Griffon Jones had 15 points and eight rebounds.
