In brief: Liquor stores open Christmas Eve

SPOKANE COUNTY – All state-run liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. They will be closed on Saturday, Christmas Day.

Contract liquor stores may be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Individual stores should be contacted for holiday hours.

Holidays affect city offices, services

SPOKANE – The City of Spokane will have a number of closures in observance of the upcoming holidays.

City Hall will be closed on Friday, due to Christmas and Dec. 31, because of New Year’s. The Spokane City Council is not scheduled to meet on Monday. Council meetings will resume on Jan. 3, with a 3:30 p.m. briefing session and 6 p.m. legislative session.

Parking meters will not have to be plugged on Friday or Saturday or on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The Spokane Municipal Court will be closed on both Friday and Dec. 31.

Garbage pickup and curbside recycling will be on a normal schedule with crews working on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The Waste-to-Energy facility and the transfer stations will be closed on Saturday and Jan. 1.

Attractions at Riverfront Park, including the Ice Palace, Imax Theater, Spokane Falls Skyride and the Carousel will be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
