In brief: Little League registration open

SPOKANE VALLEY – In October the Central Valley Little League and Eastside Little League merged to created Riverview Little League.

The newly combined league is already looking ahead to the baseball season. Early online registration will begin Monday. Families can get a $10 discount by registering before Jan. 15. Several in-person registration events are planned for January, February and March.

Art show entries being accepted

VALLEYFORD – Entries are being accepted for the fourth annual Palouse Juried Art Show set for Jan. 7-24 at On Sacred Grounds, 12212 E. Palouse Highway. All art forms will be accepted – photography, watercolor, pen and ink, colored pencil, pastels, oils, multimedia, computer generated, sculpture, fiber art, glass, jewelry and more. There are categories for adult and student artists.

All entries must be submitted in an electronic JPEG format for judging and there is a limit of four entries per person. Original art will not be accepted for judging, but must be mounted or matted for display during the art show. The entry deadline is Dec. 31. Acceptance notifications will be e-mailed the first week of January.
