Something doesn’t compute

The Spokesman-Review’s Shawn Vestal’s column of Dec. 8 argues that Washington’s minimum wage rate, (highest in the nation) does not affect employment hiring. That will be incredible news to the 52 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds that do not work for a living. Those figures are from the Labor Department (who still use “old math”) and exclude members of the military.

Vestal’s article is as funny as Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that extending unemployment benefits seemingly forever is great policy because, “every dollar spent on unemployment benefits returns $1.50 to the economy.” These “new math” lefty fantasies are hilarious.
