Soccer cleared snow

Both of my daughters have played soccer in Spokane for years. Back in  the day, we were reasonably allowed to use Albi Stadium for winter games. Before the two school districts and our city brain trust got so concerned about their precious new field turf, the parents used to have no problem organizing and clearing snow for all games … lots of games, and this went on for years.

While a privately owned plow was used on several occasions, in many cases it was cleared by manual labor, i.e., lots of sports-minded people with snow shovels. There was never a hitch.

The teams from the West Side appreciated our efforts, especially after they drove all the way over here. We never canceled a match because of snow on  the field.

Let me be the first to offer. I would be willing to reach out to some of my old shovel-wielding soccer cronies. I’m sure most of them would be willing (for a hefty “consulting fee,” of course) to teach these amateur bureaucrats how it’s done.
