Daylong health clinic will cater to uninsured
More than 150 people, including 20 doctors, have volunteered for a daylong health care clinic to be held for uninsured people Aug. 14 in Coeur d’Alene.
Dirne Community Health Clinic is working with Lake City Community Church, the Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, Kootenai Health and the Medical Reserve Corps through Panhandle Health District to provide the service.
The clinic is targeting people with medical conditions that need attention but are easy to postpone because they don’t require immediate care, a Panhandle Health District news release said.
The clinic was the brainchild of Dr. Joe Abate and Rick Croyle from the church. The charter academy offered its building near U.S. Highway 95 and Kathleen Avenue. The Medical Reserve Corps offered 25 nurses, 25 clerical workers and other volunteers.
