McMorris Rodgers announces pregnancy

U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers is expecting her second child about a month after the general election.

McMorris Rodgers, a Republican seeking her fourth term in Eastern Washington’s 5th Congressional District, announced to followers on Twitter Monday night that she and husband Brian are expecting their second child late this year.

“Cole will have a baby sister for Christmas,” she wrote. Cole, 3, is the couple’s first child.

McMorris Rodgers, 41, a member of House GOP leadership, faces five challengers in the Aug. 17 primary.
