Feast with Kootenai farmers Tuesday
The Kootenai County Farmers Market hosts its seventh “Feast with the Farmers” on Tuesday.
The evening, which is a fundraiser for the market, begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner and appetizers will be made from seasonal market produce and music by pianist Brian Crain is featured. Crain’s parents are vendors at the farmers market. He is a musician working on his 11th album.
A farmer from the market will sit at each table to talk to diners about growing food.
The menu – which will be prepared by Coeur d’Alene Resort chef Rod Jessick and Beverly’s chef Tyler Schwenk – includes stuffed leg of lamb, salmon pasta or vegetarian strudel. Each dish will include a beet and goat cheese salad, artisan bread and a fresh fruit tart.
“We try to combine the elegance of fine dining with the reality of eating foods in season, often the day they are harvested,” Barbara Arnold, a market vendor and event organizer, said in a news release.
Tickets are $45 each and can be purchased at the Wednesday or Saturday Kootenai County Farmers Markets. Call (208) 772-2290 for more information.
