Corps sets lake’s level for spawning season
SANDPOINT – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the winter pool for Lake Pend Oreille will be 2,051 feet above sea level.
Officials say they expect to hold the lake at that level through the end of the kokanee spawning season or Dec. 31, depending on which arrives first.
Kokanee are a prime sport fish but their numbers suffer if their spawning areas are left dry.
