Lookout Pass to open for skiing, snowboarding Friday
Lookout Pass will open Friday after receiving 15 inches of snow over the weekend.
The ski area on the Montana-Idaho border will become the first of the Inland Northwest’s five ski areas to open for the season with operations Friday through Sunday.
The majority of the mountain’s front side will offer top-to-bottom skiing, and eight runs have been groomed. Additional trail openings will occur as conditions allow, a news release from Lookout said.
Exit 0 Terrain Park also will open with rails and features, the release said.
The forecast calls for more snow through the week and temperatures dropping.
The base lodge will be in full operation, including a grill and deli, pub, rental shop, ski school and retail shop, the release said.
However, the release says, early season conditions exist so skiers and snowboarders should ride with caution.
