Inmate dies at Kootenai County jail

A 40-year-old Kootenai County Jail inmate who had been incarcerated since October died Saturday, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Lt. Kim Edmondson reported in a news release. Todd Searight-Douglass Neff, of Post Falls, was being held on felony charges. Another inmate told guards around noon that Neff was not responsive, Edmonson said. Authorities found him in his bunk. He was not breathing. CPR was attempted, but he was declared dead after medical staff arrived on scene, Edmonson said. The death will be investigated by Coeur d’Alene police.
