Idaho women win
The University of Idaho women’s basketball team overcame a sluggish start Sunday to put together one of its best shooting performances of the season in a 66-50 win over visiting Hawaii, Idaho’s first win in the series.
Idaho shot a season-best 17 of 18 from the free-throw line and a season-best 11 of 23 from 3-point range.
Junior point guard Charlotte Otero tied her career high and hit a season high of 14 points. Sophomores Rachele Kloke and Alana Curtis added 13 and 12 points, respectively, and freshman Shaena Kuehu scored 11 for the Vandals (8-10, 5-2 WAC).
Big Sky men
Will Bynum scored 24 points to lead four Montana State players in double figures as the Bobcats (11-9, 5-4) defeated Portland State (15-7, 6-3) 85-82 in Bozeman.
Western Athletic men
Kurt Cunningham scored 16 points to lead six players in double figures and Boise State (15-6) defeated Houston Baptist (2-20) 85-64 in a non-league game at Houston.
