Troop 419’s Ryan Sullivan attains Eagle Scout rank

Ryan Sullivan of Spokane was given the highest award in Boy Scouts recently, the rank of Eagle Scout.

Sullivan is a graduate of Gonzaga Preparatory School and a member of Troop 419. For his project, Sullivan raised money and completed a wheelchair ramp for a disabled man residing in Cheney. Catholic Charities assisted with his project.

He is the son of Mark and Lori Sullivan of Spokane.

Christopher Silva was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout.

A member of Troop 258, Silva’s project consisted of 110 hours of working with children in the Fetal Alcohol Clinic at Sacred Heart Medical Center, and Nine Zero, to make a countrywide Fetal Alcohol Awareness Day. The project was carried out on April 19 at Shriners Hospital for Children and on April 25 at American Kids Run.

He is a senior at Rogers High School and the son of Pam Silva of Spokane.

James Van Leuven, of Spokane, graduated cum laude from Carroll College in Helena.

Owen Rundquist, of Spokane, graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.

Michelle Sybouts of Spokane participated in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Academy at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., earlier this summer.

•Three Spokane students at Kaplan University in Chicago graduated recently.

Michele Ford graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in criminal justice; Jason Phillips graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business; and Stephanie Lindblom graduated with an Associate of Science in interdisciplinary studies.

Michael Maccini, of Colbert, graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., with a Bachelor of Arts in engineering science. He graduated from Mt. Spokane High School in 2004 and is the son of Dave and Merry Maccini of Colbert.
