Altitude will televise EWU

Schedule includes two Eagles games

Two Eastern Washington University men’s basketball games will be televised as part of the Big Sky Conference’s nine-game package on Altitude Sports and Entertainment, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.

EWU’s game against visiting Weber State on Jan. 11 and its road contest against Idaho State on Feb. 14 will be televised. Altitude will also televise the men’s conference tournament semifinals on March 10 and the women’s tournament championship on March 14.

College soccer

The Whitworth men (2-0) moved into the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division III rankings at No. 15 while the Pirates women debuted at No. 10.

The defending Northwest Conference champion men’s team travels to California to face UC Santa Cruz on Saturday and Cal Lutheran on Monday. Whitworth’s women (1-0) take on UC Santa Cruz, a rematch of a 2007 NCAA Division III Tournament first-round game won by Whitworth 2-1 in overtime, on Friday.

Prep volleyball

Coeur d’Alene (3-0) bounced back from dropping the opening set to defeat Moscow 23-25, 25-11, 25-23, 25-8 in the Inland Empire League opener for both teams in Moscow. Senior Natalie Stewart paced the Vikings with nine kills and 14 assists. Hanna Johnson contributed nine kills and four aces. Moscow senior Mackenzie Payton had 43 digs.
