Organists will give concert

The Spokane Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present “An Organ Spectacular: Music from Four Centuries” Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 428 W. 19th Ave.

Organists Chelle Baraville, Kent Brocklebank, Robert Carr, Yvonne Goodwater, Mark Haberman, Chris Nelson, Janice Newell, Scot Stout and James Tevenan will perform with violinist Elizabeth Lund and trumpeter Andrew Plamondon.

The concert is part of the American Guild of Organists’ “Organ Spectacular,” in which 250 concerts will be held to celebrate organ music in the United States, Europe, Australia and other parts of the world.

Admission is a $10 donation to benefit the Spokane AGO scholarship fund.

Special service

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., will present a Celtic Creation Eucharist on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

This month’s service will focus on the theme of the cosmic, or universal Christ and will include music, meditation, movement and a potluck following the service.

Trip to the Holy Land

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., is organizing a trip to Israel to follow Jesus’ footsteps through Jerusalem.

The trip is planned for Feb. 9-18, and space is limited.

Movie night

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present a free movie, “Luther,” Friday at 7 p.m.

The movie follows the life of the 16th-century Protestant reformer Martin Luther and is rated PG-13 for violence.

Free snacks will be available during the movie.

Social event

Christian Young Professionals will present a social event Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Steam Plant Grill, 159 S. Lincoln St.

The event will feature guest speaker Stephanie Vigil.

The cost to attend is $10 and any excess proceeds will benefit Life Services.

Spaghetti dinner

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3307 W. Rowan Ave., will present a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m.

The meal will include spaghetti, bread and salad, and take-out orders are available.

The cost is $4 per person or $15 per family. Tickets are available at the door.

The October Christian Singles Fellowship meeting will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of North Addison Baptist Church, 6120 N. Addison St.
