In brief: Eloika Lake group plans yard sale
The nonprofit Eloika Lake Association will hold its annual yard sale to help raise money for ongoing lake restoration takes. The sale is set for Friday through Monday at the intersection of Highway 2 and Oregon Road north of Riverside in Elk.
A silent auction will be held for a 1985 Lincoln Towncar and bidding begins at $500. There is also a summerlong raffle for a 9-1/2-foot Legacy Featherlite kayak, paddle and life jacket package which will be on display at the yard sale. Many donated household and garden items will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days.
The 20-year-old Eloika Lake Association has worked with numerous local, county and state agencies on projects aimed at advancing public access and recreation opportunities and improving water quality to better the health of fish, bird habitat and aquatic vegetation.
Eloika Lake, west of Highway 2 north of Chattaroy in Elk, is known for year-round fishing, wildlife viewing and quiet recreation for canoe and kayak trips. For more information about the yard yale or silent auction, call Pam at 292-9414 or e-mail eloika.lake@yahoo.com.
