Cheney police blotter

CHENEY – Here’s the roundup of Cheney Police Department activity for the week of May 16-22:

•Stephanie C. Melland, 20, was arrested for suspicion of theft, stemming from an incident May 9 at Mitchell’s IGA.

May 16

•A credit card was reported stolen at the 600 block of Second Street.

•Police responded to a bomb threat at Cheney Middle School. A 13-year-old boy was arrested in the incident.

•There was a report of a violation of a court order at the 1200 block of Second Street. The case is still under investigation.

•There was a report of a vicious animal at the 200 block of Cedar Street. Sandra J. Parker, 38, was cited for no license or rabies tags on her animal and the case was referred to animal control.

•A toddler got out of the house and was running around the neighborhood of the 700 block of West First Street. The toddler was returned home.

•Kelvin D. McCauley, 41, was arrested for suspicion of assault at the 1500 block of Fourth Street.

May 17

•A cordless phone was found at the 800 block of Fifth Street.

•Police responded to a report of assault at the 300 block of Erie Street. No charges were filed.

•There was a violation of a court order reported at the 600 block of Villard. The case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.

•Police responded to a report of malicious mischief at the 2300 block of University Lane. Someone had thrown a rock through a window.

May 18

•Police assisted Eastern Washington University police at the 500 block of Fourth Street during a fight.

•Allison R. Lyons, 20, Rachel M. Coch, 20, Kyle R. Coch, 18, and Josef I. Cole, 18, were arrested for suspicion of being minors in possession of alcohol. Also arrested in the incident was Cody J. Hatfield, 21, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

•Two dogs attacked a third dog on a leash at the 100 bock of Pineview Court. The case was referred to animal control.

•There was a minor dog bite reported at the 200 block of Walker Street. The patient was taken to a hospital in Spokane and the case has been referred to animal control.

•A wallet was found at the 2400 block of First Street.

May 19

•A drug pipe was found at the 1300 block of First Street.

•A blue bike was reported stolen at the 1300 block of Third Street.

•Police responded to a report of a weapon on school property at Cheney Middle School. A 14-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of having a knife.

•A black chair was reported stolen at the 1300 block of Third Street.

•Police responded to a report of a possible peeping Tom at the 2300 block of University Lane.

May 20

•Police arrested Corey A. Ward, 18, at the 1300 block of First Street for suspicion of littering and failure to cooperate with a police officer.

•A 16-year-old female was arrested for suspicion of theft at Cheney High School.

•Two 14-year-old males were arrested under suspicion of shoplifting at Safeway.

May 21

•Bryce A. Hartford, 26, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the 200 block of First Street.

•Two 17-year-old males were arrested for suspicion of assault at Cheney High School.

•Police filed a report under all cases not classified for an unauthorized use of a debit card.

•A 15-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of harassment, assault and intimidating a witness at Cheney High School.

•Police responded to a suspicious circumstance. There was a possible possession of drugs.

•Two 13-year-old females were arrested for suspicion of assault at the 1000 block of Salnave.

•Jeffrey Miller, 19, was arrested for suspicion of being a minor in possession of alcohol at the 1300 block of Third Street.

May 22

•Police responded to a report of domestic violence at the 200 block of Pine Street. The incident was verbal only.
