Braves 6-6, Mets 1-2: At Atlanta, Chipper Jones had a run-scoring double, Kelly Johnson a two-run triple and Mark Kotsay a two-run homer as the Braves beat the Mets in the second game. Atlanta’s Tom Glavine retired his last 17 batters to win the opener.

Brewers 7, Pirates 2: At Pittsburgh, Manny Parra pitched 52/3 scoreless innings, and Mike Cameron and Corey Hart homered to help Milwaukee snap a five-game losing streak.

Marlins 3, Diamondbacks 2: At Miami, Dan Uggla hit his 14th home run and Kevin Gregg escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth as Florida beat Arizona in the series opener between division leaders.

Phillies 1, Nationals 0: At Washington, Greg Dobbs’ RBI pinch-hit single in the ninth gave Philadelphia a win against Washington. Dobbs has 10 pinch hits and nine RBIs in 22 at-bats this season.

Astros 4, Cubs 2: At Houston, Hunter Pence hit a grand slam to lead the Astros over Chicago. Pence has 18 RBIs in the last 18 games.

Giants 6, Rockies 5: At Denver, Tim Lincecum pitched six effective innings, Rich Aurilia had three hits, including a solo homer, and San Francisco snapped a six-game skid, beating Colorado.

Dodgers 4, Reds 1: At Los Angeles, Chad Billingsley pitched seven scoreless innings and singled home a run for the Dodgers, sending Cincinnati to its eighth straight loss at Chavez Ravine.

Padres 3, Cardinals 2: At San Diego, Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning, a rare clutch hit for San Diego in a win over St. Louis.
