Achievements: Area residents graduate from basic training

Ten area residents recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Air Force Airman Matthew Hafer graduated in 2007 from West Valley High School and is the son of Marty and Cynthia Hafer of Spokane.

Air Force Airman Bradley Hintz is the son of Darwin Hintz of Soap Lake, Wash., and Kathie Hintz of Moses Lake. He graduated in 2006 from Ephrata High School.

Air Force Airman Christopher Jeanes is a 2007 graduate of McGregor High School in McGregor, Texas, and is the son of Richard Jeanes of Spokane and Diedre Lauterbach of McGregor.

Air Force Airman Francis Lascuola is the son of Michael Lascuola and Sandra Lascuola, both of Spokane, and graduated from Cheney High School in 2007.

Air Force Airman Alex Lawson is the son of Scott and Darlene Lawson of Deer Park, and is a 2006 graduate of Deer Park High School.

Air Force Airman Zachery Ray graduated from Cheney High School in 2001 and is the son of Chris Ray of Cheney.

Air Force Airman Jared Shaw is the son of Karla Haberman of Spokane, and is a 2007 graduate of Northwest Christian School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Nicholas Young graduated from Christian Heritage High School in Edwall, Wash., in 2007, and is the son of Donella Young of Medical Lake.

Air Force Airman Luke Wetzler, son of Rita Wetzler of Elk, graduated in 2007 from Riverside High School, Chattaroy.

Army Pvt. Megan Goulding is the daughter of Dan Goulding of Spokane and Gina Goulding of Tacoma. She graduated from North Central High School in 2007.

Army Pvt. Adam Newman is the son of Sue Newman of Spokane.

Army Pvt. Zachary Tullos is the son of Dixie Thompson of Spokane and Tim Tullos of Carthage, Miss.

Army Pvt. Thomas Harding graduated in 2004 from University High School, and is the son of Don Harding of Spokane.

Army National Guard Pvt. Mikal Browell is the son of Ladonna Browell of Spokane.

Army National Guard Pvt. Courtney Richards is the daughter of Colleen Janssen of Moses Lake, and is a 2007 graduate of Moses Lake High School.

Army Pvt. Matthew Short graduated in 2004 from Gonzaga Preparatory School, and is the son of Michael Short of Hayden, Idaho.
