WCC tourney headed to Vegas
SAN DIEGO – The West Coast Conference will move its annual postseason tournament to Las Vegas in 2009, the conference announced Saturday.
The tournament will be played at the 7,471-seat Orleans Arena. It will mark the first time in conference history that the event will be held at a neutral site.
The decision, disclosed in a press release, will be formally announced by WCC commissioner Michael Gilleran at a press conference today.
The tourney has been rotated in recent years by playing on the home floor of one its schools in Southern California, Northern California or the Pacific Northwest.
