Cherry Poppin’ mp3s
Washouts from the ’90s swing movement, Portland’s Cherry Poppin’ Daddies have all but abandoned swing in a return to punk-rock roots, while still keeping their stylistic diversity with inklings of funk and R&B, recalling the band’s early incarnation (think “Ferociously Stoned” with better mastering).
Cherry Poppin’ Daddies appears on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Pavillion Park in Liberty Lake. Expect some of the band’s popular swing material, but to get familiar with the new sounds, check out an mp3 of “Blood Orange Sun” from the Daddies new album, “Susquehana,” at spokane7.com /music/mp3s.
