The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced the slate of candidates to fill five positions on the board of directors.
Each candidate will serve three years on the board. They are: Barry Baker, Baker Construction; John Guarisco, Marjoni Marketing; Nancy Holmes, Avista; Mike King, Stonemark Realty; and Shawn Lindhorst, ADM Milling Company.
The candidates for officers are: chairman of the board, Phillip L. Rudy; chairman elect, Bill King, ITT Technical Institute; vice chair, Chris Armstrong, Heart In Hand; vice chair, Damon Smith, DCI Engineering; treasurer, Terri Montano, Spokane Eye Clinic; and secretary, Lee Cameron, Mirabeau Park Hotel.
These candidates will be joined by Rustin Hall, ALSC Architects, past chairman of the board; Member at Large Jim Bowles, UBS Financial Services; and Eldonna Shaw, Chamber president and CEO to form the executive committee.
According to the Chamber bylaws, additional write-in candidates for election may be submitted from the membership through a petition process. A write-in candidate must be a member in good standing and be recommended with signatures of 10 members. Should there be write-in candidates, an election by the membership will be held July 15.
The board of directors approved the slate of candidates for directors and officers by a unanimous vote. If no petitions are received, the slate of candidates offered by the nominating committee will stand as elected. Newly elected directors will take their places on the board Sept. 1.
