Don’t miss your chance to play in the snow at Twinlow Camp today.

The Community United Methodist Church of Coeur d’Alene is hosting a Snow Day at the lakeside camp that sits on Lower Twin Lake from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your sleds, snowshoes, skis and warm clothing for lots of outdoor fun. Then, head inside the lodge to warm up a little and join in the indoor activities, including singing, games, crafts and an opportunity to work on service projects.

Lunch will be provided by Twinlow staff for $6.50 per adult, $5 per child, and children under age 3 are admitted free. Twinlow Camp is on Twinlow Road in Twin Lakes, off Highway 41. For more information, call 765-8800

Leadership seminar offered

The North Idaho College Idaho Small Business Development Center will present a leadership workshop this spring for entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their businesses.

Entrepreneurial Leadership Training will be offered in 10 interactive sessions from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 5 through April 8, at the NIC Workforce Training Center in Post Falls.

Topics covered include business planning, market analysis, operations, management, financial planning and budgeting, deal making and managing growth.

Cost is $395, which includes all materials. Space is limited, so enroll early.

Enter artwork in poster contest

The Citizen’s Council for the Arts will award $600 to the winner of the poster design contest for the 40th Art on the Green, the summer art festival at North Idaho College. This doubles the customary prize for the poster contest.

The art must be the original work of the entrant and should be in finished form and unframed. Lettering for the poster may be included, or left for the printer. Information in the poster will read: “40th Annual Art on the Green, Aug. 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2008, on the grounds of North Idaho College.”

Poster size is 12 inches by 16 inches. Anyone may enter, and the deadline is March 24.

NIC choir looking for singers

The North Idaho College Concert Choir is auditioning singers for its spring season.

Community members are encouraged to audition during the ensemble’s first rehearsal at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Boswell Hall’s Schuler Performing Arts Center.

Auditions will include pitch-matching exercises and some music sight-reading. The ability to read music is recommended, but not necessary.

The NIC Concert Choir focuses on choral repertoire suitable for the large ensemble, which can include 60 to 80 singers. The group meets regularly throughout the year from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Rehearsals are in preparation for the “Spring Choral Extravaganza” April 27 at NIC. The concert will include selections by Aaron Copland.

Participation in the NIC Concert Choir is open to both students and community members. For more information, call NIC choir director Max Mendez at 769-3275.
