SCRAPS waiving cat adoption fees in December

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service is waiving all adoption fees for adult cats during the entire month of December, with the hopes that homeless cats in Spokane will have a home and a family this holiday season.

SCRAPS. has received a number of sick and injured animal calls this holiday season, including an emaciated Manx cat, weighing only four pounds. A healthy weight for the cat is between eight to 10 pounds.

Nearly 3,000 cats are in need of new homes. Their waived fees will include their first-year vaccination, health check, spay or neuter, and microchip. New owners would only be responsible for licensing his or her new cat.

For more information, call Nancy Hill at 477-1967 or Patricia Simonet at 477-2752. To help homeless and neglected animals in the Spokane area, donations are accepted at SCRAPS, 2521 N. Flora Road.
