More arrests likely in killings
Police find gun in victims’ car
Shoshone County authorities are expecting two more arrests of people who knew of last week’s double homicide near Wallace but were not directly involved.
Sheriff Chuck Reynalds would not discuss any potential charges for those people, but he expects those arrests to happen today. Additionally, a .22-caliber gun that may have been used in the killings was found in the victims’ car, he said.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of Neil Howard, 20, and Cynthia Bewick, 18, who were found Aug. 8 at the top of Dobson Pass by a man picking huckleberries.
An autopsy confirmed both victims died of gunshot wounds to the head. Authorities say they were killed in the same location as where they were found.
On Wednesday, Jon Allen Kienholz Jr. was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder, officials said. Corey Reid, 20, was arrested in Boise on a probation violation. He was held in Ada County Jail on Wednesday night, returned to Shoshone County on Thursday and arraigned on accessory-to-murder charges. Reid, who drove the victims’ car to Boise, was interviewed by detectives Tuesday and indicated that he had knowledge of the killings, officials said. Hiram Wilson, 17, is being held in the Kootenai County Jail in connection with the homicides. He will be charged as an adult.
