Laser Light Show at Grand Coulee Dam:
Narrated story, on how and why the Grand Coulee Dam came to be built, combining colorful lasers that move across the entire span of the dam, creating magnificent moving images that virtually dance across the spillway. Sherman Alive:
Held Thursdays through August and each week will have a new theme ranging from new cars to a community picnic. Stores and galleries will join in the fun on the street by offering their wares until late and sidewalk seating will be offered with no traffic disruptions. “Fools Rush In (Friends of the Okanogan Lobe) Report on Geological and Glacial Status in the Okanogan”:
Wenatchee Erratics Chapter, Ice Age Floods Institute will meet to hear Jack Holden, Don Hruska, Gary Mundinger and John Whitecar report results of their explorations and mapping of Okanogan glacial geology. Their findings include: locating basalt erratics that could extend the northwest boundary of the Grande Ronde flow by 10 miles; evidence of glacial outburst flood north of Omak; unearthing of pulmonate gastropods; and challenging previous geological research. Inland Northwest Skyfest 2008:
Fairchild Air Force Base’s free air show and open house. The Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps premier aerial demonstration team, are scheduled to be the main act. Other demonstration teams will include the F-22 Raptor, F-15C Eagle, C-17 Globemaster III and the KC-135 Stratotanker.
