Erickson teams undisciplined
Dennis Erickson, the coach whose Miami Hurricanes team invented the word undisciplined, is correctly called out in Vince Grippi’s article about Arizona State’s thuggish behavior last week.
However, Grippi was too mild in describing Dennis’ Oregon State team’s behavior against Notre Dame in the Beavers’ blowout Fiesta Bowl victory. In my opinion, that was the worst display of poor sportsmanship in college football history – and I had the Beavers and the points.
As far as Erickson’s past success is concerned, he’s got great timing. After Jimmy Johnson turned around Miami’s program, he left a stocked team for Erickson in a football recruiter’s dream location. After failing in the NFL, Dennis had the good fortune to land the Oregon State job – right after Mike Riley turned around that program. Wait until Dennis’ recruits start to play at ASU before predicting success there.
