Carroll rolls over Rocky Mountain
BILLINGS, Mont. – John Barnett passed for 216 yards and three touchdowns and Marcus Miller added four field goals Saturday in Carroll College’s 35-3 victory over Rocky Mountain College.
Carroll (2-0), ranked fourth in the NAIA, led 33-0 before Rocky (1-1) got its only score, a 21-yard field goal by Bjorn Nelson with 5:38 remaining. It was the first time Rocky had scored on Carroll since Nov. 12, 2005.
The Saints tacked on a safety when Casey Worth was tackled in the end zone with 2:43 to play.
Miller had a 34-yard field goal in the first quarter, kicks of 31 and 20 yards in the third and a 36-yarder with 12:19 left in the fourth quarter to put the Saints up 33-0.
Travis Brown caught six passes for 123 yards, including a 23-yard TD pass with 1:25 left in the first quarter and a 62-yarder midway through the second.
Barnett’s other touchdown pass was a 39-yarder to Christian Prosperie less than a minute into the third quarter to give the Saints a 24-0 lead.
