North Idaho College will honor longtime basketball coach Rolly Williams with the first Rolly Williams Classic golf tournament Sept. 21.

The four-person scramble will begin with lunch at noon and a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Prairie Falls Golf Club in Post Falls.

To register, call the NIC Athletics Department at 769-3348.

The tournament honors Williams, who served as the head men’s basketball coach from 1961 to 1996, accumulating 731 wins and 314 losses and 25 consecutive winning seasons. Williams was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame in 1988 and into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 1993.

Last spring, the NIC Board of Trustees approved the dedication of Christianson Gymnasium’s floor to Williams. Rolly Williams Court will be dedicated in October along with a men’s basketball reunion and a scrimmage between the current team and men’s basketball alumni as part of the celebration.
