Grading the Cougars: C+

The Spokesman-Review

Quarterback B-

Missed some open receivers, but Alex Brink hit 63 percent of his throws.

Rushers B

Had big gains on way to 157 yards. Missed a big pass-blocking assignment.

Receivers B

Brandon Gibson shook off effects of knee injury to shine. Some poor communication.

Offensive line A-

For a group that was supposed to be a weakness, played better than any unit.

D-line C-

Did a great job against the run most of the game. Pass rush was nonexistent.

Linebackers C+

Though thin, the group was all over the field, led by Greg Trent’s 7.5 tackles.

D-backs D

Without help up front, the group was left to fend for itself too long.

Special teams C

Forced a fumble and ran for a first down on punt block, but had numerous gaffes.

Coaching C+

The offense was effective at times, the defense not so much.
