A $200,000 winning Powerball ticket purchased in Moscow is floating around in someone’s pocket, purse, drawer or glove compartment. The ticket was purchased for Saturday’s Powerball drawing and matched all five winning numbers of 21, 30, 34, 36 and 49, but not the Powerball number of 42.

Lottery officials speculated in a press release that the winner could have come from out of the area, possibly for the University of Idaho and Fresno State football game.

Woman, 70, injured after truck hits minivan

A 70-year-old woman was critically injured Monday morning when a semitruck crashed into her minivan on the West Plains.

Leona L. Reiber was driving a Plymouth Voyager east on Hallett Road when she reportedly ran a stop sign at Spotted Road, according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office news release.

David D. Clinton, driving a Freightliner flatbed with a crane, slammed on the brakes and skidded, but the truck smashed into Reiber’s minivan, the release said. The van crashed off the road and the truck followed, rolling onto its side when it hit the shoulder, according to the release.

Reiber, a West Plains resident, was taken to a hospital after the 10:15 a.m. crash. Clinton also was injured. Further information on their conditions was unavailable Monday night.

Patricia J. Campbell, who was born in 1968, poses a risk to public health and safety, according to documents filed by state Health Department officials.

The documents allege that Campbell coaxed a developmentally disabled woman into a basement and promised to “make her feel better” before having sex with the client.

Campbell, who has held a license since 1994, has 10 days from the Oct. 12 suspension to request a hearing and 20 days to respond to the charges. She is prohibited from practicing until the agency determines whether the allegations are valid.

Woman arrested in assault with baseball bat at home

A family dispute near Athol involving an ax and threats exchanged between two sisters ended Sunday evening with a third woman arrested for allegedly beating one of the women with a baseball bat.

Cindy Garcia, 38, was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on two felony charges of aggravated assault and felony attempted strangulation. Investigators say Garcia entered the home of 45-year-old Dianne Dirk, of Athol, and attacked Dirk with a baseball bat, threatened to kill her and choked her.

Authorities had been to Dirk’s Perimeter Road home earlier in the day after Dirk’s sister, 42-year-old Debbera Mosiman, and Garcia allegedly went there and an argument ensued. Mosiman told sheriff’s deputies that the home belongs to her late father and the two sisters were fighting over who had a right to the property.
