Cable TV subscribers in Spokane will have access next month to a new on-screen guide offering previews of multiple channels. Comcast Corp.’s guide will go online June 5 and will replace software by Microsoft statewide.
“ Tomlinson Black real estate offices in Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene will affiliate with Sotheby’s real estate arm to help sell luxury properties. Sotheby’s, best known for its auction house, also has a real estate niche selling high-end properties in resort areas and big cities.
WEDNESDAY
Jobs Plus, a recruitment agency in Kootenai County, celebrated its 20th anniversary with officials touting its role in bringing 4,500 jobs to the area.
“ Whirlwind Concepts Inc., of Spokane, is looking to expand distribution of its Big Red Machine — a windshield wiper fluid pump that dispenses 40 seconds worth of fluid for $1. The machines are already available at some regional Zip Trip convenience stores.
THURSDAY
Flight Deck EP, LP, plans to build a three-story, 83-room hotel called The Wingate by Wyndham near the Spokane International Airport. The new hotel, which will be next door to the Airport Ramada Inn, should be ready for guests by July 2008.
“ ARC Manufacturing, of Spokane, faces a three-month backlog of orders for its new resistance spot welder and dent puller that doesn’t require a special power outlet. Two car manufacturers have approved the machine for use by body shops.
“ Washington’s teachers union filed suit over a new law that would reverse an expensive pension benefit approved during the stock-market boom of the late 1990s.
FRIDAY
Ground was officially broken for a 78-acre residential and commercial project planned just north of downtown Spokane. The Kendall Yards launch drew several hundred people after City Council approval earlier in the week of a tax district that will pay for some of the site infrastructure.
■ A building in Spokane’s University District will be known as Asuris Schade Tower after insurance company Asuris Northwest Health moves into the structure.
