People: No conscience, no class, no service

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

O.J. Simpson‘s lawyer says he plans to pursue racial discrimination claims against a Kentucky restaurant owner who refused to serve the former football star.

Jeff Ruby, who owns the upscale steakhouse in Lousville, asked Simpson to leave last Friday night – the eve of the Kentucky Derby – because of the attention he attracts.

The NFL Hall of Famer was found not guilty in 1995 of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman, but was found liable in a civil trial that followed.

“I didn’t want that experience in my restaurant,” Ruby said, adding that seeing Simpson being treated like a celebrity “makes me sick to my stomach.”

After Simpson was told he would not be served, Ruby said, he and his party of about a dozen people left quietly – “the first time since 1994 he has ever shown any class.”

Simpson’s attorney, Yale Galanter, insists the incident was about race.

He says he intends to pursue the matter and possibly go after the restaurant’s liquor license.

“He screwed with the wrong guy, he really did,” Galanter says.

Dirty-old-man dancing

Rapper Akon has apologized for doing a sexually explicit dance onstage with a 14-year-old girl.

After a videotape of the incident during his April 12 concert in Trinidad began circulating online, Verizon pulled out as a sponsor of his tour with Gwen Stefani.

Akon says those under 18 were not supposed to be admitted to the show.

You-toot tube?

Lindsay Lohan‘s lawyers are demanding that News of the World produce a video that allegedly shows the actress snorting cocaine.

In its Monday edition, the British tabloid cited an anonymous friend who says the 20-year-old Lohan had a “marathon cocaine binge” just 20 days after she left rehab.

She also reportedly brags about bedding a bevy of hunks, including Joaquin Phoenix, Benicio Del Toro and James Blunt.

A real nail-biter

A manicurist who claims she was attacked by Tanya Tucker’s dog is suing the country singer for $300,000.

Danielle D. Hobbs says the dog, named Bella, ran from a bedroom at Tucker’s home and began biting her without any warning, causing painful and disfiguring scars on her leg.

She said Tucker has at least eight dogs, and several of them growled and barked at her during two previous visits to the home.

Can too drag them away

A Rolling Stones show in Belgrade has been moved from the city’s racetrack to avoid upsetting hundreds of horses stabled nearby.

The July 14 concert by Mick Jagger and company will instead take place in a vast public park in the Serbian capital.

Animal-rights activists protested that the noisy concert would distress the horses.
