Hernandez continues to make progress toward return to mound

The Spokesman-Review

DETROIT – Seattle right-hander Felix Hernandez, on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm, played catch for 20 minutes on Wednesday prior to the Mariners’ game at Detroit and felt good afterward, according to pitching coach Rafael Chaves.

Hernandez threw three innings of a simulated game on Tuesday, and Chaves said he would have a bullpen session on Friday. He may start on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels.

Hernandez did not allow a run in his first two outings this season, then left a game April 18 in the first inning because of tightness in his right elbow.
