Orioles 8, Devil Rays 3: At Baltimore, Jeremy Guthrie allowed one run in six innings to earn his second major league victory, and the Orioles got home runs from Nick Markakis and Jay Gibbons in a victory over Tampa Bay.

Yankees 8, Rangers 2: At New York, Alex Rodriguez hit his first homer in 15 days, Andy Pettitte pitched seven sharp innings and the Yankees beat Texas for their seventh straight victory over the Rangers.

Red Sox 9, Blue Jays 2: At Toronto, unbeaten Josh Beckett gave up a home run on his first pitch, then settled down to become the first seven-game winner in the majors as Boston beat Toronto.

Athletics 6, Royals 1: At Kansas City, Mo., Chad Gaudin struck out a career-high eight and Oakland defeated the Royals. Eric Chavez, who was 2 for 23 in May, had three hits, including two doubles. Dan Johnson, Chris Snelling and Bobby Crosby each had two hits for Oakland. Nick Swisher drove in two runs.

Twins 7, White Sox 4 (10): At Minneapolis, Justin Morneau’s second homer of the game, a three-run blast off Nick Masset in the 10th inning, lifted struggling Minnesota to a victory over Chicago. It was his second game-winning homer this season. He hit a solo homer in the ninth inning against Tampa Bay on May 12.

Indians 5, Angels 1: At Anaheim, Calif., Cliff Lee tossed a two-hitter for his 50th career victory and Cleveland defeated Los Angeles, its 13th win in 16 games. Victor Martinez homered and had an RBI single and Casey Blake drove in two runs for the Indians, who improved to 17-4 against right-handed starters.
