Achievements: Jake Jordan receives Eagle Scout rank
Troop 171 has awarded the rank of Eagle Scout to Jake Jordan. He is the son of Jim and Sandy Jordan, Nine Mile. His Eagle project was to construct a 3.2-mile hiking trail in Riverside State Park near the Little Spokane River. The troop’s chartered organization is the Woodridge Elementary School Parent Teacher Student Organization in the Indian Trail neighborhood. Jordan is a sophomore at Lakeside High School.
“Justine Scott, a Lewis and Clark High School graduate, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2006-2007 academic year at Colby College, Waterville, Maine. Scott is the daughter of Timothy Kinsella, Seattle, and LeaAnne Askman, Spokane.
“Catherine Jhung of Spokane was named to the fall 2006 dean’s list for Seattle Pacific University.
“Drew Olsen, a student at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., participated in the St. Olaf Choir midwinter tour. Olsen is a former resident of Spokane.

Air Force Airman Olga Beary is the daughter of Dexter and Janet Beary, Spokane.
Air Force Airman Dustin Bullock is the son of Carole Bullock, Spokane, and is a 2006 graduate of North Central High School.
Air Force Airman Malcom Hart is a 2005 graduate of West Valley High School. He is the former ward of George Raskell, Spokane.
Air Force Airman Allen Martin is a 2006 graduate of Lacrosse High School. He is the son of Carolyn Martin, Lacrosse, Wash.
Air Force Airman Bryan Sanchez is a 2006 graduate of Moses Lake High School and is the son of Eliud Sanchez of Sunburst Court, Moses Lake.
“Iraq veteran Capt. Kurt Krauss Army has accepted command of Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 178 Field Artillery Battalion. Krauss graduated from Shadle Park High school in 1983. He is the son of Rhonda Krauss and the late Louis Krauss.
■Army Pvt. Jerremy Bedeski has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
He is the son of John Bedeski, and Karen Lanphier, both of Spokane. Bedeski is a 2006 graduate of North Central High School.
“Army National Guard Pvt. Ayla Comer has graduated from the light-wheeled vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Comer is a 2005 graduate of Oroville High School. She is the daughter of John Glenn, Estacada, Ore., and Cynthia Nelson, Oroville, Wash.
“Army Pvt. Alfred Kenworthy has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Sheila Collins, Spokane.
“Army 2nd Lt. Colby Smithmeyer has graduated from the Army basic officer leader course at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
He graduated from West Valley High School in 2002 and is the son of Steven and Sandra Smithmeyer, Spokane.
“Air Force Airman Amy Ransier has graduated from the operations resource management systems apprentice course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss.
She is the daughter of David and stepdaughter of Bethany Ransier, Medical Lake. Ransier is a 2006 graduate of Medical Lake High School.
“Army Pvt. Aaron Long has graduated from the ammunition specialist advanced individual training course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala. He is the son of Dorothy Meria-Olsen, Moses Lake.
“Air Force Lt. Col. James Reierson was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for meritorious service from Jan. 1, 2002, to July 16, 2006.
